May Day Flowers for Craig Hospital

A bounty of flowers appeared at Craig Hospital in the arms of sixteen of our Garden Club of Denver members. With vases, jars and cans in hand and a plethora of shared flowers, we got started on creating over 50 colorful arrangements to be given to the patients, staff and families at Craig Hospital. This was the first year we were on site at the hospital for this activity and it proved to be not only beneficial in terms of transport and convenience, but we got to meet and hear from both the in-house horticulturist and the two volunteer coordinators, as well. We toured the greenhouse and gardens to get a good feel for their outdoor space and the plant life used for sensory therapy. It was a joyous, fulfilling, feel-good morning and an outreach project we hope to continue in many years ahead.
