Conservation/Horticulture Field Trip on Agrivoltaic Farming

Happy Summer from the conservation committee!  Many of us enjoy fresh produce from Denver Botanic Gardens and other area farms.  It’s wonderful to buy local – and to enjoy all the fresh fruit.

The next conservation and horticulture committees’ excursion will explore the connection between farming and solar power generation, otherwise know as agrivoltaic farming.  Agrivoltaics, agrophotovoltaics, agrisolar or dual-use solar is the simultaneous use of areas of land for both solar panels and agriculture.
On Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., we are visiting Jack’s Solar Garden in Longmont. Jack’s Solar Garden is the largest commercially active research site for agrivoltaics in the United States.
The email with registration information will be sent on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.  We hope you can join us!  Space will be limited and carpools encouraged.
